Lake Bunyoni

Lake Bunyoni is situated in the mountainous region close to the Rwanda border. This part of Uganda is also called the Switzerland of Africa. A nice place to relax for a couple of days and to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Vlak bij de grens met Ruanda ligt in het bergachtig gebied Lake Bunyoni. Het gebied wordt ook wel het Zwitserland van Afrika genoemd. Een fijne plaats om een paar dagen te relaxen en te genieten van het uitzicht.

On a beautiful spot you will find the house where Idi Amin used to live.

Op een van de mooiste plekjes vind je het huis waar Idi Amin heeft gewoond.

We stayed in a small chalet along the lake, from where we could watch the playing otters. There is also a camping ground, so it is an ideal place for overland trucks.

Zelf hebben in we een klein chaletje op de helling langs het meer gezeten, vanwaar we een mooi uitzicht op de spelende otters hadden. Ook is er plaats om te camperen waardoor het een ideale plaats is voor de overland trucks.

There is a cantina where meals and drinks are served. Be patient when you order your meal: it takes forever.

Voor een natje en een droogje kun je terecht in de kantine. Wees niet ongeduldig als je eten bestelt: het duurt even voor het klaar is...

Travelling to Kisoro we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.

Op weg naar Kisoro konden we genieten van de mooie vergezichten.
